Q & A with Eric Germann

XCEL NDT has always considered itself a company with a very strong Advanced NDT Services Group.  In the early years of the company, a large portion of this advanced work fell more under the pipeline integrity inspection services and as the group grew it became apparent that there needed to be two separate product lines which then became the Advanced NDT Services (AVS) group and Pipeline Integrity Services (PLI) group.  With this division of product lines, XCEL needed to hire or promote an individual to manage the PLI group and everyone on the management team knew Eric Germann was the top candidate for the job.

When Eric started working full-time for XCEL he was helping the company in all areas of the advanced NDT services group.  Yet by fate, or maybe even luck, he soon found himself filling the role of a pipeline integrity technician and inspector as many of XCEL’s clients always wanted him on their integrity dig projects.  This new role didn’t seem to bother Eric even though he spent much of his time on the road chasing the pipelines all over the United States.  He always was trying to learn something new about his job.  This trait was likely one that helped him land a manager role so early in his career of NDT.

After accepting the Pipeline Integrity Manager position, Eric has become known as an individual that leads his team by example and is always trying to deliver the highest integrity to both his employees and clients alike – that is Eric Germann!  Below you get to read more about Eric.

Question – What is one thing that XCEL NDT can do to help solve its clients’ biggest challenges?

Eric – I believe something that sets XCEL NDT apart is our willingness to go above and beyond for our clients.  We strive to satisfy our clients’ needs and I believe the whole team takes a lot of pride in making the start-to-finish process a great experience for all involved.

Question – What is your favorite part about your job?

Eric – The best part about my job is working alongside some of the most driven people I’ve ever met in my life.  The team we’ve put together at XCEL is incredible and it’s a joy going to work with these individuals and working together to solve the day-to-day challenges.  Also, meeting and building relationships with the people and clients that you meet.

Question – What’s your leadership philosophy?

Eric – My leadership philosophy is to always be fair and consistent in principles that guide my decisions, lead by example, and never ask anyone to do something that I would not do myself.

Question – Outside of work, what are your interests/hobbies?

Eric – Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.  I am an avid hunter and love watching my son play sports.
