Q & A with Brandon Promes

Brandon Promes attended Southeast Community College and graduated with an NDT degree.  When asked why he picked XCEL, Brandon distinctly remembered his interview with Cole Morehead and Travis Sweetser, both former grads from SCC.  He said XCEL stood out because the focus of the interview was about his goals.  He said there was no question after he visited the XCEL headquarters in Clifton, KS.  He recalled how he felt right at home with everyone in the office and just felt the small town/friendly vibe.  He also mentioned the office ladies made chili!

Brandon Promes is our Colorado Branch Manager and continues to strive for new goals daily.  Below you can learn more about Brandon.

Question – How is the industry changing and what is XCEL NDT doing to keep up with the changes?

Brandon – The technology utilized in the industry is changing at a very rapid pace.  XCEL NDT is staying ahead of the curve by adopting and exploring new products on the market that best fit our customers’ needs.  Sharing the new products and their capabilities to current and new customs is one way we stay on the cutting edge.

Question – What is your favorite part about your job?

Brandon – My favorite part about my job is the people that I work with daily.  We are one big family at XCEL with very important focus points – determination to work hard and return home safely every night.

Question – Going back to all jobs you have had in (or outside) the industry, what experience stands out the most?

Brandon – The most memorable experiences that I had within the industry is working in remote areas of the country from Western Texas to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Working in different geographic areas exposed me to different countryside and allowed me to interact with the different cultures.

Question – Outside of work, what are your interests/hobbies?

Brandon – Outside of work I enjoy attending Husker football games along with hunting and fishing.  I carry a fishing pole with me when working on the road just in case I have some free time to get a line wet.
